so i'm just progressing along. Teaching 2 nights a week ... and then kid stuffs and twins club stuff is really eating up tons of time. Thankfully at least for the upstairs(not including kids rooms) the house is sooo much cleaner!! I took alot of time and did lots of purging and organizing which really helps me feel better abotu things.

We aren't even amonth into school now and we are having some issues with heating/cooling in William's room, getting his meds to him on time and the kicker was him getting lost for 45 minutes the other day. AHHH I love the start of the year.

I've also been working hard on finihsing up projects still... so all is good.

We are still alive! I know its been a while since I've posted...I'm sorry. Its been a really crazy summer and that's all I can say. The kids are funny- only 15 days left before school starts. Hard to believe that the summer is almost over. They participated in yoga class which both really enjoyed and just did little stuff.....nothing major. Which was really nice to be able to just have everyone take a deep breathe.

As most of you know already I am filing for a seperation from Paul. This hasn't been an easy choice/decision but at the same time I don't know what else to do. Hopefully we can stay friends and who knows maybe down the road we will come back together. Which has been another reason for lack of postings.

Ok I promise to update more but its 10pm here and I'm tired.

Since I posted here. Its just craziness. So much has happened.... we've done numerous brownie events, some cub scout things, had the UMDM marathon and pinewood derby...and ended basketball and cheerleading for the season. I'm teaching away and that certainly does take up time and energy. I still can't get the pictures to actually save to the computer so I can't post pictures to show you things like my shoes LOL I need to work on some more projects but I seem to keep getting distracted. So back to the grind and I promise to stay more current and have Paul work on this camera thing so I can show you all pictures. =)

holy cow batman...its been a while

I'm sorry its been so long since I've posted.... life and not knowing exactly what to post has taken over. Happy belated St. Patty's day!
I just took the picture of my shoes... many of you have already seen them though so now it seems odd to post their picture. (I'll post it later for those who haven't seen them LOL)
Bella ended up selling 610 boxes of cookies (ok I gave her credit for the few boxes that are sitting here unsold- so if you want thin mints, samoas or tagalongs let me know I have a few more left! Carol and Judi I have yours here....) So I'm finishing up the paper work and stuff for the cookie sale.
I have also been trying to get projects done and things planned (more on craft stuffs over on the craft blog).
This weekend is the big dance Marathon at U of M ...so I need to get going on our gifts for them. I got towels for them and will embellish them with U of M fabric... the towels were on sale/clearance at Walmart....so the price was right and they are pretty nice towels.
Bella's been working away on try its for brownies as well. And now William has been working away on earning extra cub scout stuff.... right now we are trying to get the belt loops for him (guess its the cub scout version of a try it LOL) Both kids really want to earn the skiing try it/belt loop but Paul and I don't ski so I'm going to have to find someone for next winter who will take them =) Right now William has earned 15 of the belt loops available... at least that's how I figured it. And is almost done with about 8 more. Poor kid has been tagged along on tons of brownie stuff so it will be nice for him to see it pay off =) Most of the things he has left to do is making some posters or charts for things...not hard but just have to do it. At least I know what he has to do now LOL Course I'm not sure his waist is big enough for all these loops on a belt.
The blue and gold banquet was a HUGE success! Zeemo was a great show with his yoyo tricks. Next is the pinewood derby- thanks to Uncle Mike for helping WIlliam with his car..so hopefully it will go better then last years! (lets just say I had NEVER made a pinewood derby car and there are just certain things that you have to do and I didn't know it and the wheels last year were in too tight)! Little does he know he's going to have a second one to do soon with Bella and then 2 regatta boats. Hey that's what you get when you complain about how I did it! =)
Ok off to do more work around here and get ready for the big powwow with some brownie people.

She's really happy and William seems to be just as thrilled too. I can't thank you all enough for helping my baby girl reach her goal!

Seems I"m learning that I can beg! LOL

Bella is only 25 boxes (we were 45 but then I sent out an email and several of you have ordered a few more boxes!) away from her goal of 550 boxes. At that number she will be invited and recognized at a special council dinner......

As I said in my email.... you can always buy a box and have Girl Scouts send them to our military troops all over the world if you don't want to eat them. And I can always mail them too...
So will you help my baby girl reach her goal? And help support girl scout programming in our area?

I'm starting my spring cleaning

It seems like I'm in spring cleaning mode... I'm just fed up with living like we have been and with the thought that maybe this summer I'll do a garage sale or get to tagging stuff for our twins club sale. The reality of it that its just not going to really happen and I'd rather just donate or give all this stuff away at this point. So I'll be callin' ya Susan cause Sophie can have Bella's hammy downs =) I've done some major going through stuff and throwing things out and donating lately and its felt great! Its certainly helping me with the winter blahs I've been having.

I still haven't taken a picture of my new shoes..I love them. Its like wearing slippers all the time. Soon I promise.

Ok and I owe several of you an official "I'm sorry I didn't tell you!" regarding my baptism. And for some an explaination. I was baptized as a baby in the Catholic church. Its been ages since I've been a practicing Catholic. The church we attend now use to be Baptist but now is nondenomiational (forgive my spelling)...they believe in Baptism by submersion not just sprinkling. So in order for me to be an official member of the church and volunteer in a variety of ways I need to be baptized. At first I was looking at it as more a hurdle to jump over inorder to be the assistant coach for bella's cheer team. However, now that its done I wished I would have invited everyone. Its really a cool feeling to know that I did it and am now a member of our church. There was a special sense this week at Church and especially when we did communion today.

Today we also got to go to an art exhibit that featured Bella and William and Alexis as well as other kids from the Kids on the Go program last summer. Its pretty cool! And if you live in the area it will be at the Anton Art Gallery in Mt. Clements through March.

Bella is at 453 boxes of cookies...one more cookie booth to go. And that doesn't include Mary's order (hey Mary!).
So there you have it...I'm back to cleaning up stuff and working on other things (like the blue and gold banquet that is Tuesday night and in many ways I'm no where near ready for it!)

lots has been going on... but mostly I've been battling sinus stuff so I've been feeling yucky.

However I did get baptized today at church was actually really cool! I even made my mom cry when I read my testimony which means the world to me.

The kids are also going to be featured in an art exhibit next Sunday and to top it off new shoes to share with you all! I promise to do more but I'm tired and the downstairs of the house is a pigsty (though I did do some cleaning even tonight). The kids go back to school in the morning!

ps Bella's now at 451 boxes sold...only 99 more to go till we get to 550 and the special dinner! WOOHOOO

last count Bella has sold over 350 boxes of cookies...and that's before she works any of the cookie booths. Apparantly at 550 boxes she gets invited to a special dinner down at council. So I think that's pretty close to do able at this point.... but only if you all keep buying cookies from her =)

Ok so most of you have been following along that I have several events I'm planning. I have to do favors for them as well as everything else...what do you think of the following:
1. blue/gold banquet doing the first aid kits for the boys/kids that are the film canisters. I'll decorate the outside with sticker paper and my scouts at play stamp set. For centerpieces I will have buckets/baskets with crayons in them so they can color the map placemats. The theme is "america's abc"

2. Leader banquet for girl scouts- still thinking really but kinda leaning towards little notepad covers or 100 grand candy bars with the cute wrappers or hotpads with the girl scouts logo on them for favors. For centerpieces thinking small totebag/purses with some fun things in them.

3. leader/daughter banquet..the scrabble tile necklaces (we are painting pottery/plates at the creative arts studio)

4. all brownie event.... I don't think I'm doing a favor since we are doing craft projects to take home.

5. UMDM care package present...either notebook covers or those drawstring backpacks...or an embellished towel.

what do you all think? Then its on to thinking of end of the school year presents for brownies and teachers.

the Hawaii quarter came today

Today the kids and I went to the Troy Historical Muesum.... what a neat place and the kids had a great time as well. Its big enough for them to learn something but small enough so that they don't loose interest and get bored. We would go back again! Anyways I stray from the point... when we got home we had mail! YEAH!!! Lettie from Polka Dot Pineapple blog fame sent Bella the Hawaii quarter we were still missing. Right from Hawaii!! Might be the closest I get to Hawaii (I hope not because its on my bucket list!) And she also suprised Bella with some cute apple stickers and an adorable tissue cover! Its soo Bella! Course William is a bit jealous but has gotten over it (at least for now LOL) Thank you so much!!! (the rest of the mail was family fun magazine- which I love for ideas! and then new try its the brownies had earned - you can see those on Bella's brownie blog).

LOL I have managed with some help from others to collect all but 1 - New Mexico... now I know the thing on the side also lists Hawaii but another blogger (from the polka dot pineapple= a blog I love to visit!!!) is sending that one. I can't believe this is almost coming to an end. Bella is so excited to see the board almost filled now and I'm sure my mom will be happy to be able to stop asking "do you need this one?" LOL

We were at a UMDM function today and they had a relay type race...Bella did the hula hoop... she can hula hoop like crazy and is especially good at doing it around her neck! She far out did any of the competition! Such unique talents my darling little girl has!

Seems time is just slipping by faster then I can catch up and maintain things. I know I finished the quilt for Donna's new grandson but seems that with planning the: neighborhood leader banquet, neighborhood all brownie event, and neighborhood leader/daughter event as well as my son's blue and gold banquet and being the troop cookie mom (don't ask! LOL) and normal stuff that I haven't gotten to do much else. I'm also trying to clean the house up since its gotten out of control. I did get dishes done today and was hoping to get more done. But I ended up running around and making tons of phone calls and then it was cub scouts and tap class for the kids.
I have to come up with something for favors for all of the above except the all brownie event. So if you have ideas let me know. I also need to put together "inspiration gifts"for our dance marathon team and something for my cheer team. And then there's the end of the season coaches gifts. YIKES!! Why do I do this to myself? is anyone else out there like me? And when I get past this stuff I have to start kicking into high gear with the end of the year teacher gifts and brownie award ceremony.

127 cases in my living room later

Its cookie time here! And this weekend we (mom and I) Picked up 127 cases of cookies. I got them sorted and all but 3 girls picked up yesturday! WOOHOOO!

This picture doesn't include Bella's boxes (which was over 200 boxes - there are 12 boxes of cookies in each case) and then there are a few people's who are along the right side that I couldn't get in the picture.

My Coleader has another order for 192 boxes of cookies..which would bring her daughter up too 230 and her aunt took it to work (which is a local hospital) so the girls are neck and neck really.... I havent' told Bella this yet. So if you need any (or more) cookies please let me know.

Hey Carol (cause this is faster then us playing phone tag LOL) let me know when I can get you your cookies. Ok off to get the kids finished getting ready for school and to deliver those cookies that go to school ..and there is alot of those.

You won't believe what my living room looks like... It was cleaned and looking pretty good (except one small section over by the llazyboy type chair which has some stuff I need to take to my mom's and an afghan I need to fix -if I can- for my mom) but last night I picked up Girl Scout cookies!!! 112 cases to be exact. I got some sorted last night and will continue to do so today inbetween activities. Parents can start picking up tommorrow...sooo I think I need to snap a picture before they start going out. I think I need to pick up more cookies still from the cupboard because we had several turn in orders after the initial order deadline.

And don't panic there is still plenty of time to get cookies from Bella!! Right now Bella is the top seller but one of the assistant leaders has mentioned she might have another 200+ cookies she needs...so then her daughter and Bella are going to be pretty close.

Our camera is doing strange things and my batteries went dead after a few pictures =( I have to spend sometime to flip them so you don't have to put your head sideways. I promist to do it soon.

Oh YEAH I'm ADD

I know that several of you laugh when I say that I have ADD... I've never been formally diagnoised with this. I am not making fun of people who have ADD. My son has ADHD and I watch him at times struggle to just hold still and its even harder is to watch people pass judgements and make hateful comments to him or about him because sometimes he just has to move or he's so frustrated because his brain just keeps going and he can't get it out fast enough . Picture your car moving at 100 mph and your tires can only handle moving at 50mph- that's how it looks with William when the ADHD is moving his brain at 100mph but his mouth/speech (because of the speech apraxia) can only move at 25-50 mph... eventually the system flips out/breaks down. Its important to note that the non-adhd brain runs at like 80-85 mph as well.....Its got nothing with him being a brat or an awful child.... in fact William for the most part is a great kid who's loving and happy and has the best smile and giving personality. But he has his moments..... anyways off that soap box! LOL

Back to me...cause sometimes it is all about me! People say to me are you sure your ADD... I say well it could explain alot of things. But here is a prime example of what I'm talking about. I went with a cup of pop to start the dryer and go to the pantry to see what kinda of soup we have on hand for lunch. I set the cup on the washing machine and go into the pantry. I decide that the pantry looks like a mess and reorganized it. Its great now the baking stuff is all together, the soups are together, the noodles, etc (you get the picture!). I walk out with some packaging that needs to go to the trash. THen I see the trash and decide that there is alittle more room in there so I did a fast fridge clean out of somethings and upstairs to take out the trash. Which I realized needed to go to the curb...so I do that. I come back downstairs and make several phone calls to organize a variety of events. Realize that durning this I need to do the permission slip for a brownie field trip and start on that. THen because I need the end time off a sheet of paper I go over to table and start going through papers. End up doing something else. I just went into the laundry room again to see if I have taco seasoning and low and behold I found my cup of soda..now flat from sitting out and still wet clothes in the dryer because I never pushed the start button. I still don't have the permission slip or have any clue what kinda of soup I can have for lunch because I thought it best to start a grocery list and blog about all this!!

Moral of the story: Its more of a wonder how much I actually finish rather then how much isn't done yet. And yes I'm sure (even without being a doctor) I have ADD!

But I will now admit that I have been watching the bachelor. Its bad I know... and I just have to say that at this point what bothers me at this point is: Stephanie's eyebrows and blush!! Girlfriend is WAAAAY over plucked!!! She has the "holy shit what is this" look all the time. And her blush is a bit into war paint zone. Now that being said I am hardly a fashionista.

what a great time. Its amazing to see how well William is starting off this season already. The cheerleaders looked great considering they've had 2 hours total of practice. As soon as I get the camera connection working I will post a few pictures.
We are in the holding pattern right now - getting lunch and changing clothes- before we leave in different directions. Bella is going to gymnastics with brownies and WIlliam is going with the cub scouts to the library to learn about Native American Cultures.

Its all good.

you take a small group of 1st and 2nd graders to the science center to "learn" specific things? especially when at least 3 of them have different special needs- from ADHD to Autism? The answer is the beginnings of a migraine!

I hope the kids learned something today. I did.. I actually learned a few things! ALso, I know William needs a nap now.... Tommorrow is another big day.

I also finished the binding on Mrs. Murray's Christmas gift from 2008. Thankfully she's easy going.

I went to the dr today for my wrist and he thinks we are pretty much there on healing. He told me to try to stop wearing the brace - which is exciting. And if its still hurting in a month then he'll need to see me again. YEAH!!! So good dr. results from both visits this week.

what the heck am I suppose to do with for this? This being the 'blue and gold banquet" for William's cub scout pack. I have roughly a month (should happen in Feb. but I can do it in March) to plan it and I have NO clue what to do at this point. I'm not even sure what the theme is. I am thinking its "america's abc". I'm getting NOTHING from the powers that be in our pack. So I need HELP!!!

I also have to find a place for a brownie neighborhood wide event and for a leader/daughter event. Somedays there just isn't enough hours in my day! I need an assistant.

Bella has sold 228 boxes of the 251 boxes that is her goal.... so if you'd like to buy a box for yourself/loved one OR buy a box that the girl scouts will then send to military troops stationed all over the world just let me know. She's so close and today one of the girls that started the year off bullying Bella pretty bad started in on her again. Saying that she sold more cookies than Bella... not true but Bella didn't know that at the time. But now Bella is really wanting to make sure she reaches her goal even more. Its so hard to watch your little one be treated badly like that. Sorry not meaning to make anyone feel guilty inorder to buy cookies but let me assure if you something happens at this point and the other girl comes to me with a huge second order that I will be personally buying a TON of cookies to make sure Bella will have sold at least 1 box more then this other girl. Just to prove the point and make sure that this girl can't hold that over her head. (so be warned grandma cause you might have to buy a few more boxes too LOL)

On the happy note though our librarian/media tech at school bought me a really cute cute cute arrangement of flowers to say thank you for all the books I've been able to enter into the library system. I would do it even without the special present but it was soo sweet. Lisa, the media tech, is just a wonderful person and I'm so lucky to count her as a friend! And Bella has a play date tommorrow with her best friend at school. This little girl is just a doll and I'm so glad they have each other. I wished they were together in class though as that's where Bella is struggling with the bullies. *sigh* At least they have each other on the playground, at lunch and for fun outside school.

Ok I'm still working on projects around here and weeding through things and throwing things out. Which is good. And I go back on friday to the dr about my wrist. I think its getting better afterall I'm able to do things without the brace but there is still alot of time when it hurts and hurts badly! There doesn't seem to be a real middle ground on it. And most of hte pain is like a burning pain. So hopefully we can get some more answers ..and there will be NO shots of cortazone let me assure everyone! I've seen those needles and watched little old men who have been in the war have tears in their eyes while getting them shots. NOPE not even going to happen!

The trees are down

The trees are all down the living room looks ok.. I have to take some stuff to the UPS place to mail out and that will also clear out some more room. Got tons of laundry folded and some sewing time yesturday.

Right now Paul is on my last nerve and really if it was easier we would be filing I think at this point for a divorce. Instead I think tommorrow/Tuesday I am making appointments for us with a marriage counselor at church. Cause the stress is killing me. So there you have it. In case you wondered. Nothing much funny there and I try to keep things light hearted but sometimes I just can't!

On the flip side my class started Thursday night and it seems like a good bunch of students. Its funny cause everyone told me I'd have mostly paralegal students taking my class as this campus but I am not finding that to be the case. Again its mostly business students and last semester it was mostly construction management students. I wish I could get Paul to take advantage of my tuition reimbursement program at work and take some classes or at this point I might start doing them but I guess I would have to take things during the day while the kids are at school. I'm thinking things like interior design classes might be fun or stained glass or pottery. All those things that when I was really having to foot the bill for classes just didn't seem practical- for me then it was what do I need to graduate and move on. So I didn't do alot of "fluffy" classes like that. Don't get me wrong those classes have their place and reason and I'm sure they aren't easy passes but you know what I mean. THey weren't directed at my major and law schools didn't care if I knew about pottery wheels or where the best place for good traffic/room flow a couch went. So we shall see....I would stock them up for the kids college future but I think they "disappear" after so long on the shelf so to speak.

Ok enough rambling for me...got lots more I want to get done and the roads are looking alot better so thinking we might beable to get to the 11:30 service for church.

we survived the Friday school is closed day!

It was flipping cold yesturday - it actually has been the last few days here. We survived and I don't think anyone is permanently scarred =) Sometimes it doesn't go as smoothly and we also have Monday off and next Friday.... so we shall see. Today is hopefully get Paul to move and take down the trees and do some other cleaning. Seems that's usually my plan but its hard when no one else seems to get the concept of pick up after yourself and we have limited space because of the situation. I'm not complaining about the situation - I'm grateful. I am complaining about the lack of help keeping things clean however!!! I just don't understand why no one seems to help till I start screaming because I'm so fed up. And why should kids listen when the other adult in the house won't?! hmmmm!

So looking for tips and tricks on helping with getting everyone to pick up after themselves. Anyone got any?

took me time today

I took some time away to stay at home and get some work done. I worked first and formost on my outlines for class tonight. Last semester I didn't get a chance to review the changes made in teh book before (or for that matter during) class so I got the first 3 chapters adjusted today.
Then I got some work around the house done today! I'm so excited and happy and I also pieced together the grinch tablesquare and its pinned. got a little bit longer before I have to get the kids from school and then a bit before I go teach. But its nice to have the living area cleaner, some sewing and the dishes done! WOOHOOO Oh then I booked our first cookie booth for cookie time.

There's still time to get your orders in to help Bella reach her goal!

we've had activity after activity this week

And the kids are both saying they are just too tired. BUt when I asked what they wanted to give up they didn't want to give up anything. I think next year though I'm going to try to get it so not everything falls in the same week. Because I have to agree its just too much! Its hard to get dinner in, keep bedtime schedules/routines and do homework.

To show you what I mean..this week we've had:
Monday: school, then we started cheerleading and basketball
Tuesday: school, brownies, GOMOMS (which was mine but made us rushf rom brownies to get them switched off with dad)
Wednesday: school, cub scouts and then tap class
Thursday: school and I teach
Friday: just school!!!

so you can see why this morning William was whiny and Bella just didn't really want to go to school.
Next week we have both Monday and Friday off from school. And the only activities they have are cheerleading/basketball on monday and then tap class on Wednesday and I teach on Thursday. But then the following week is an above week. Now next year I have already said I'm not going to be on the board for GOMOMs beyond resident agent. ITs just too much. And I"m hoping cubscouts and brownies will be on opposite weeks which I think will help things as well.

Ok I am off to work on another UFO project and maybe do dishes and clean the bathrooms. That's another thing that gets totally affected by the running and running and running. Plus I started doing some reorganizing/go through and throw out/donate phases and this weekend I need to take down the Christmas trees. (just in time to go pick up cookies)

The list keeps growing but you get the idea... never did I say I am just me! And yet I keep getting pressure to add more hats. So how many hats do you wear? At what point do you say enough already!?

I think I'm at that point. And its hard because I want to get more done but I rreally doubt I can. I made 16 batches of peppermint dough to make little polar bears this morning. Cut spearmint leaves for trees, did some shopping and a bit of dishes and 3 loads of laundry. Then is was off to take care of room mom duties and the kids holiday party. We were going to do this the friday before school let out for break but if you remember we wending up with a snow day. So we held it today. What a great time we had! But i'm tired. See the pictures (the little "white blobs" are peppermint polar bears)

But I did pick up my sewing machine! YEAH!

Yup we've made it to Tuesday... It was nice to be back in school yesturday. Its been a bit of a struggle to get back in the swing of things but we are getting there. In the next day or so I will be taking down the trees and making room for cookie delivery time.

There is still time to get your orders in .... Bella is getting close to the 251 box goal... still a waaays away from the 1000+ goal she'd really really like to get to. I'm just happy to sell what we can.

Ok I made quiche (aka scrambled egg pie) for dinner...so one kid is thrilled and one kid is not.
I've kinda decided that we need to do more cooking at home and less eating carry out - including hot and ready pizzas. So for the last 2 days now I've been cooking at home. Yesturday was shepard's pie (which I ate the leftovers today for lunch) and then today was quiche. Tommorrow's plan is perogi and brats. Not sure what we are doing Sunday... So got any good recipes to share just let me know because I'm a little tired of the same ol' things.

the kids go back to school on Monday! I have to admit I'm a bit ready for a break from them. LOL They overall have been pretty good but still. I think we will value each other more if we have a break and then "rejoin" each other. =)

oh another fun way to entertain the wild bunch is the v tech cameras that santa got them. Santa got a great deal on a clearance rack during the year and so we got batteries and they've been snapping away and then it allows them to play with the image and record sound as well...its really pretty impressive camera and Santa only paid about 10-15 bucks each for them. Money well spent!

So I'm off to do more stuff...hope everyone is having a blast. And while writing this William lost another tooth! WOOHOOO its been wiggly for a while now so that gives them more things to take pictures of and stay entertained for a while more! YEAH!

Hard to believe its a new year! This morning seems to be a tough one for the kids but we shall perserver.... I think they just got way too off schedule last night. Yikes!! Today is a hubby's day off and I mght just be taking advantage of that ...and running away for a bit. LOL

just when I start to feel a bit better I go and over do it. I have been trying to get things here back under some sort of control again. Sadly I've also found at least 2 more projects to do but that I had forgotten about. Yikes!

Yesturday, we unpacked the cupcake maker William got for Christmas ... its interesting but I think we need some more practice or something cause ours didn't come out like the ones on the commercial. But WIlliam had fun making them and I guess that above everything else is what's most important.

Today we made smore's from the kit that grandma gave us.... it was really cool to see the marshmellow expand in the microwave.

Ok off to take motrin and then finish more cleaning since grandma is coming to spend the night tonight since she's without power.

I thought for starters I would say at least 10 things for which I feel lucky/blessed about (these are in random order):
1. My kids - even when they drive me crazy
2. My mom who at times drives me crazy but for the most part I couldn't make it without her around to help out in so many ways. She's a great friend
3. diet Pepsi- for which I get through most days without headaches and with enough energy
4. learning to purl! I'm so excited about this as its taken me years to figure it out
5. for stating to make this year's Christmas gifts last January
6. For friends! I just can't say enough about my friends and how absolutely wonderful they are!
7. Paul- I know I know most of the time he's been on my last nerve but then he still does have redeeming qualities that keep me from trading him in on a newer model.
8. my job and Paul's.... in this economy I'm so thankful for them and that we both seem to enjoy them
9. smaller sized jeans! yup I am finishing the year in jeans that are smaller then I started the year with! YEAH!
10. finished projects! while I still have a ton of unfinished projects I'm grateful for the skills and talents I have that have allowed me to finish/make so many things.
11. our church- this year we found Woodside Bible Church in Troy and have become members. Its nice to have a wonderful, fun place to worship as a family and have the kids grow up in with a strong sense of faith and God.

now for things I'd like to do/learn in 2009:
1. continue to work on getting bills/student loans/budget under better control and paid off
2. learn to knit socks
3. finish at least 1/2 of my UFO list (see my craft related blog)
4. get thank you notes out within 2 weeks needing to send (ie after kids party, christmas)
5. get 2009 gifts made (unless they are cookies and such) done by the end of November
6. plant a fruit/veggie garden
7. finish the year in smaller jeans
8. learn to free motion quilt

I'm sure there will be more things as the year starts to unfold but right now those are the big ones on my list. Anyone else with me here? what is everyone else's plans for the new year?

the biggest obstacle was the weather and mom not feeling well. But we did the annual sales... I have to tell ya that besides from sewing I am basically done for next year.... Now before you get all uppity (LOL) let me say that I'm sewing a majority of gifts again for friends and my mom so that I didn't have to buy much. There are still some things I want to try to get my hands on in the coming days of sales. And because the kids are at a "wierd" age really this next year (8 but turning 9 and going into the 3rd grade) I don't know what they will be liking ...unlike when they were little and you could count on certain games or things being a big hit in the coming year. So I took care of basics that I know Santa will need me to help with and then my older brother. =) And I got some great deals on things we can use now as well. So it was fun...then we went to lunch at Applebee's and the food and service were both good. I was happy! Then we had leftovers with the whole gang including Melanie and Uncle Mike.

Now its get the house clean! I just don't want to ring in the New Year in a house that is beyond messy..... I do have to take some pictures and post them for you all... and so stay tune as I will do that today as well.

Our family is gearing up for the magical night. Dinner will be had soon, and the reindeer food is made and ready to sprinkle outside. We are baking cookies for Santa at this moment.

What an amazing year its been thus far. Its had its up and downs but really its been amazing. Here's hoping 2008 ends on good notes for everyone. And if I don't get a chance to say it to you each I'm praying for a wonderful and blessed New Year as well.

I'm tired!! now in my defense I'm trying to do more without the spint on my wrist and so far I've:
folded a ton of laundry,
did another 2 loads of laundry,
did the dishes,
cleaned off the counters,
scrubbed out the microwave
cleaned out the frig upstairs
organized a bit in one of the cupboards (mostly the plastic ware stuff- I swear that stuff multiples in there!) and
baked several dozen cookies (before you get all uppity on me LOL it was done with premade dough I purchased)

I've also been knitting on a little sweater for Bella that will hopefully be done for Christmas but I'm doubtful at this point. So far so good with the kids getting along and being good but its still early in the winter break LOL Its flippin' cold outside so can't go out and play (its so cold its dangerous if you ask me). HOpefully I can get Christmas cards done today.... if not they will happen tommorrow. I did finally realize the other day that it would be best if I just went ahead and purchased them rather then stressing out about trying to fit in making them in time.

Before I forget.... while baking today I finally took out my stackable cooling rakes by WIlton. I got these a while back in the day after Christmas sales. But I hadn't used them till today. They are awesome!!! Especially great if you like to bake and have limited counter space or if you do massive baking at once!!! I love them so much that I think I might need to get another set! They are awesome!!!!

So off to do more stuff or talk thing one and thing two into a nap. Hey a girl has to dream!

Recently someone said to me that they thought I had the worst luck and it was like I had a black cloud over my head. I was shocked I don't feel that way most of the time. This last comment was esepcially about the car acciedent.... and my feeling was that I was really lucky in many ways but mostly because the kids weren't in the car with me. They would have been seriously injured. My wrist is healing and now I have the ticket dismissed. Yes I'm mad my car is smashed but at least its drivable! guess its the classic case of the glass half full versus half empty sort of thoughts. I liked to try to think of it as being half full or heck maybe I only wanted 1/2 a glass in the first place for that subject.

Well yesturday we got a phone call from the local hospital. As many of you know Paul and I aren't covered with health insurance so bills add up fast and between this last go around, some previous testing and that knee surgery the total was really really high. Well we had filled out some paperwork a while back and the call yesturday was to let us know the entire balance has been taken care of. I can't tell you how much pressure and stress that takes off us! I may not be lucky but I'm truly blessed.

Yesturday afternoon after I got the last few things I need to buy bought I got a phone call from my mom. Some of you may remember my mom's friend Donna. Donna is such a sweetheart and wonderful person. She lost her first grandson a few years ago to Pompii syndrome...this is a very rare form of MD and needless to say their family and those of of us know the family were just devistated. Well Donna's daughter recently had another baby named Evan. Evan was born with this same condition but now knowing a bit more about the disease they started a new drug trial with Evan as soon as possible. Part of the syndrome is that attacks the heart and enlarges it... well Tuesday they did an echocardiogram on Evan and it came back that his heart is normal! This is an amazing miracle for this little guy and his family. Please continue to keep them in your prayers! BUT in the mean time YEAHHHH!!!!

Ok shout out to Ms. Sara... Sara's momma who's now in town for the holidays! We love Ms. Sara. So hopefully we can do our trip to target again this year for the sales.

Its cookie time for Girl Scouts...so place an order with your Girl Scout connection and if you are local and don't have one just let me know =) Bella is doing great with sales already and we are hoping to keep it up.

Also this morning say a prayer ...its off to court I go. There is some questions about the code the ticket was writen under which is for me failing to yeild while leaving an alley (NOT a driveway) but officers do have a right to rewrite the ticket if need be appearantly however I've never seen them do that. So hopefully that works in my favor today. I have the estimate and also pictures of the damage and area.

Oh last Friday I got the cast off and am in a brace for the next 6 weeks. This is much nicer because I can take it off at times to do things like shower! No more taping my arm into a plastic bag LOL

we've also found out that a wonkazoid is an older "game" and is not carried at Toys R Us anymore... so maybe the Easter Bunny can get those for the kids on line. Oh well...

I've been bad about updates here...but it hurts to type with the cast! I go in for the follow up and see what the plan is on the 12th of December. I am fighting the ticket I recieved and God willing something will go right and the ticket will be totally dismissed...but now my court date isn't until the 19th (it was suppose to be this coming Tuesday). so please say a prayer for this. I've been plugging away at things around here for the holidays. And now I'm even more grateful that I started making things last January. The trees went up last weekend adn I'll try to get a picture or two posted soon. This weekend is shaping up to be very busy as is next weekend.

We had a cookie manager/mom meeting last night which means that starting on December 15th its officially girl scout cookie time! (they will be available to eat after Jan 28th) The new cookie in our area is really good...we got to try it last night. Its called Dulce de Leche and reminds me of a carmel biscotti type cookie. YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY! Lemon Chalet Cremes are back and Bella is Happy about that. She's decided to try to sell at least 125 boxes for her initial order which earns her a special patch and then overall at least 251 boxes becuase again that's some cool patches. Gotta love her! They are $3.50 a box and I have to say though that I can remember them being a $1 and people having a fit when they went to 1.25 cause it was "harder" for the girls to add! LOL Anyways if you want cookies let me know. Our troop collects at the ordering time.

Happy Thanksgiving friends and family.

Also our hearts, thoughts and Prayers go out to Carol, her mom- Nancy and family right now. Carol's father passed away last Friday night/Saturday morning. I wish there was more we could do to make this easier on you all.

So much else is happening right now and typing while in a cast is a trick on to itself but I'm learning. More updates and such later...I'm heading to Meijers soon to take advantage of their sale on snow boots for the kids. =) Tommorrow is Joann fabrics ...though flannel is now 1.49 a yard on sale rather then .99 like the past. But they also have butterick patterns on sale 5/$5.

and yup for those who don't know my sewing machine at the moment is resting in peace....seems the motor has decided it was time to stop working. So right now any sewing I'm doing is on my mom's old machine from when I was a kid. I'm grateful for that ....and thankful also that most of my gifts I made over the year so I'm not in a total panic mode right now. THough I still need to do thank you notes from the kids party (sorry folks!!!) and then start in on Christmas cards.

Things have been crazy... last update was that I survived Brownie Camp...what I didn't get into was the car acciendent that happened just a few days before we left (wednesday to be exact) so I've been dealing with that. They believe that my scaphoid bone in my wrist is broken and are concerned also about ligment damage. I go for an MRI on the 26th. It hurts... but I'm grateful that its not worse! We are just dealing with things and going from there. My hand is now in a shorter cast and its red. I think I will decorate it for the parade next weekend ...ala Martha Stewart. I still have to make a banner for the parade, sew hats into purses, do some sewing for my mom, and make and write thank you notes from the kids party. I'm Tired and I hurt and somehow the more my wrist swells in the cast the less help I get from the people closest to me. Go figure!? I also need to get tons of pictures printed out and house cleaning stuff done.....

I also have to say that as cute as the Kit Kittredge movie is ...I'm really sick of it! Oh Oh OH I also was told that they are splitting the cub scout den that William belongs to and so add Den Leader to my list of titles. I also have a chance to get a second class for next semester which would really help out things since the van is drivable but repair wise is totalled. And if things go ok schedule wise then I will also be an assistant cheerleading coach for Upward...which really is ironic when you think about it. The downside is that I just don't see how I can keep as active as I have been in our twins club. Guess there comes a time where I only need to hold one board position - resident agent/lawyer rather then 2. So here are some pictures.... my troop at camp . 16 of the 18 girls came. But now we are up to 20 girls in the troop because we had 2 more girls join the group on Saturday at Turkey Bowl. The a few from Halloween at school.

ok my behind is getting chapped which isn't anything overly new but yes I'm dissappointed in the way this election turned out. However I'm going to suck it up in some ways and stand behind our Country and will wait and see about the new PRESIDENT ELECT...that's right folks he's not the the flipping president yet!! He doesn't take office till he's sworn in!!! So he can't make any decisions regarding missiles in Poland or anything else ...that's still G. Bush's job! There are a few other issues with what the news is saying and calling things but what can you do...
On the really cool note my friend MO and I might actually get to meet up and hang on Friday afternoon which would be amazing!

I can't believe they are 8...Its hard to imagine my life without them. THey are amazing and wonderful and teach me new things all the time. I am truly blessed to be their mom and I know Paul feels the same way!

In some ways I feel we are double lucky. We experience all the wonders of having a beautiful and amazing daughter and all the excitement and mysteries of having an over the top little boy all at the same time.

So here's to my babies turning 8!

what a busy weekend. Aunty Kyra took the kidlets Friday for the great Catholic pasttime of Bingo! LOL they had fun and won lots of prizes. Paul and I went to Zumba's which is this little hole in the wall type place in downtown Royal Oak... my friend Lisa gave me a gift card to there for my birthday. It was yummyand very reasonably priced .... the only downside is its not a HUGE menu but for some of us that's a good thing LOL! Saturday we held the kids party... wizard themed and it was fun and low key. William got a Pancake Puff!!! and moon sand and blendy pens.... he was in overload LOL! Bella got her manatee webkinz and webkinz trading cards and lots of books... so she was so happy too. But more importantly they had friends they love there and the 3 godmom's where there and it was amazing! I realized that I am so blessed in this life because I have AMAZING friends who just step up and feel in gaps for us! I can't thank you all enough! From the party we went right to Church because the Kids Choir (called KFC or Kids for Christ) was singing. It was very cute to watch. After that the kids decided (and I about drove off the road in shock!) that they wanted burritos for dinner! For those who don't know normally Mexican food is not on the list of picks for my kids... so we went to Zumba's and used the rest of the gift card from Lisa. The kids loved it! This morning we were off and running again to Church for singing and then off to U of M for Pumpkin carving. We got to meet our team there and they are wonderful! And we had tons of fun. I'll post pictures as soon as I get the download on the camera to work right

for nancy...first aid kits/ready set go camping try it

My troop made this cute little first aid kits in order to get ready to go camping. Each girl made one to wear at camp and it was a HUGE hit with them for very little cost really! ok first I called Walmart (dont' start folks its what I have handy!) and asked the camera developing center to save me the film containers...so they were free. I also got a few donated from another girl scout leader. I took all the lids and poked holes in them with an awl/ice pick. The girls decorated the container part with stickers and wrote their names on the bottom with sharpie.

with the lids we put a piece of lanyard (plastic lace but you could use an old shoe lace, yarn, whatever you have on hand and if you leave near me and want/need yarn just call!!!) So the lanyard was about 18 inches (maybe longer) and we put both loose ends through the hole then put a pony bead and knotted it. then we filled with with 2 bandaids, 2 alchol wipes, a safety pin and a little glow stick.

then we put the lid on and were ready to go. The key for the girls frustration is to make the knot good and tight and we brought them home (and a coleader is bring them to camp) but we are going to "burn" the ends to make them a bit more sealed so they won't come unknotted.

At this meeting we also did a scent hike through our library (weather prevented us from being outside), made sit upons and discussed campfire safety and uses for bandanas. Stations work so well in our troop that each meeting we just divide the girls into 4 groups on loop them through so each meeting we earn a try it. This I've found also helpful because when we tried to do a thing here and another step here it was hard to keep track of which girl earned what when they were absent so for my brain its the best way to go all around!

hopefully we will be on the road to Caseville in the next hour but now I'm thinking my car is filled with all sorts of stuff and that's all gotta come in before we can go out! At least the little people who seem to run through the house and car like tornados are seemingly calm and getting along for the most part. Oh Nancy I did take the pictures to walk everyone through the first aid kit but I will have to do that and a host of other computer things when I get back from Caseville.

Last night the kids did trick or trunk at their school ...its was nice. In many ways it was just the right size. And I have to give a big shout out to the Potter's because they are super involved at the school but still super organized and great to the kids! So YEAH Potter's for all you do to make our school better!

At this point exhaustion has started to creep in!

Some weeks its crazy around here. We had the first cub scout meeting and doesn't seem like much has changed in the way things are run which is frustrating to me. So hopefully the den is big enough to split this year and maybe some of that can change. I have also managed to track down the booklets for the God and Me scout program (both girls and cub scouts use the same program) so that's good.
Tap is going really well and yesturday we ordered the kids birthday cake at Costco... which wasn't too hard for them to agree on. =) Girl Scouts is going well over all. Right now we have 15 girls in my troop registered with a possiblity of 3 more if there mom's would just turn in the paperwork. Of the 15 registered 10 of them are also signed up for camping (at this point but I think 1-2 more might be coming and the troop house fits 36 so all is well there) so I think that's great! I got horseback riding and the animals try it sessions paid for yesturday and we will also work on a few other things while at camp. I'm actually pretty excited about going to camp. A bit nervous that I won't beable to get the fire going but I will have lots of other moms who are more experienced there to help so even that's not that big of a deal.
At the last meeting for brownies we went over some things to get the girls geared up for camp. We made sit upons and first aid kids and went on a "hike" through the library with different animal tracks to find and scents to figure out. It was fun! Now to get the halloween/senses party all figured out and all the camping/packing stuff written up. I think I need a laptop really I could get so much more done if I could take it with me all the time so that when I'm waiting and such I could do those things. Maybe someday.
Nancy I haven't forgotten to blog out the first aid kit...I'm hoping inbetween classes today at the kids school library (where I was asked to fill in for our regular librarian who will be absent today) that I can take some pictures which means maybe tonight I will have that for all to see. =)

Lightbulb moment

I was talking to my mom last night after spending time giving my grandma a shower. She was really gross and stinky! Yikes...and man was she in a mood! Oh well I digress at this point. Anyways we were talking and it dawned on me that sometimes in your struggle to not be like "that person" you infact end up like them in more ways then you realize. This came up because we were discussing my younger brother and how upsetting it was how things have happened with him and basically the coming to terms with the fact that I feel the need to keep him and his family at arms length because of circumstances. And the ironic part is how much my brother would throw a fit if you said you are doing things like our father did. That's not to say that my brother would physically hurt his kids or would just leave them. But in so many ways they are alike.... my brother is full of anger and is being blinded by certain things/people. He's left a major part of his family and that's hurtful. And the list could go on... right now is this "dissappointment' in his second child being a girl rather then another son. Which makes me further pause to realize who do I sooo not want to be like and in what ways so that I can identify those traits in myself and work on them. And nope I don't need help pointing them out folks! LOL

On a happy more uplifting note! I found the bandanas I had gotten for the brownies! I have to track down newspaper for our sit upons we are making today but otherwise I have just about everything else done (need to do our little hike stuff). I have milk jugs for cub scouts tommorrow. So all is going well. I need to sit down with the coleaders soon and map out our camping trip stuffs and share that info with parents.

And so far we have yet to hear from only one more kid regarding coming to the birthday party. So that's exciting! I have to order the cake soon.... Maybe Friday.

Ingredients
1/2 cup peanut butter
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup milk
8 ounces whipped topping
1 9-inch graham cracker crust or 9 inch pie shell

Directions
1Mix cream cheese until fluffy.
2Blend in peanut butter and powdered sugar, mix well.
3Slowly add milk.
4Fold in topping.
5Put in prepared 9 inch graham cracker crust or 9 inch pastry shell.
6Freeze until set and serve.

Ok I made this a while back for a teacher appreciation thing and it was a HUGE hit...(at least I think this is the same recipe I used...it seems like it to me! LOL)
Ingredients
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ginger
8 ounces Cool Whip
Directions
1Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy; add canned pumpkin and spices.
2Fold in Cool Whip; mix until creamy.

what can I say about William....except he's William. He's a funny little man. Most of you remember Jasmine...from last year at school. She was the Queen of William's harem and just captured his heart. She is what lead to his interest in High School Musical and Hannah Montana. Well Jasmine is now at a new/different school which means that William's heart was a little broken. So to fill the void William has a new Queen of his harem named Rachel. He has her full name but I wont here cause that's not right but its cute. He will do so much for Rachel. She's in 3rd grade and is a cutie. So the other day he says to me "mom can I take Rachel on a date?" and I said well... and he quickly adds " you can come with us...cause you drive!" and he's got 9 cents in his pocket. So I asked where he would like to take her.... thinking he's going to say McDonald's or something. But nope...he wants to take her to see John McCain! I smile and say honey its kinda hard to see John McCain right now..he's a bit busy and not in Michigan. My smartie son says "well then we can go to his headquarters!" then out to get chicken nuggets. So there you have it! LOL

I finally got the brownie newsletter out...all 6 pages of it! and also have the cookbooks done from last year. The kids invites are basically all out and I have two request for future cards to be made. Today I went to breakfast with Sara and a few other moms. Its wonderful to be with moms who understand the kids with issues things. And also to just relax and enjoy adult company. Then this afternoon Sara and I went ot a rummage sale. I got an old quilt (don't know how old it is) but it was $2 ..its worn but its soo pretty. As I was paying for it the guy behind me was basically drooling on it and telling me he thinks its for sure about 80 years old. I don't know about all that but I love it! I got the kids some jammies and stuff for pretty cheap and a MEGA ice cream ball for $5 which looks brand new! So it was a good day. I am now drying fabric so I can make the 16 trick or treat bags for GOMOMS that I've sold..its not to late to get yours! (only $5 each and then $2 if you want them embroidered with a name in glow in the dark thread!) and the kids have tap class. I also need to do my homework for OPF class this Saturday and some other things!

Oh if anyone has a Martha Stewart "drippy goo" border punch please let me know!!! I'm desperate and I have called 12 Michael's in our area and they are all sold out! ARGH!

I often post the funny things my mom says and updates on her doing things with the kids. But I don't usually post alot that is for her....but my mom has a baby sock fetish. Seriously folks that is my mom's traditional gift once you announce you are pregnant and everything. I think she gave my friend Susan no less then what felt like a million pairs (but was probably closer to 20) pairs of little socks at Susan's baby shower. God love my mom for this.. she still buys the twins socks if they have some fun print or are at a good price. THat being said I often think its boring to just give someone a pair of little baby socks in a gift bag...so I found this online and love it...

So we didn't end up going up north...long story short..last night william had a bug bit that looked bad so we went to urgent care to get it checked out..it fine. But my stomache also wasn't doing nice things and the thought of being in a car for a 2.5-3 hour drive (most of which is without a bathroom in site) just wasn't happening for us. So home we stayed. Sara and I got up this morning and went to a rummage sale- $2 for a bag. It was good! I spent $8 and got some great stuff..more on that later. Then I came home did dishes, worked on laundry with paul and mostly I worked on the kids birthday invites! They are done except the envelopes. so I was busting my butt today to get things done. But got stuff done is what I did! I started off by going with Lynette to figure out the floor plan for the GOMOM's upcoming sale. Then it was back home to do the newsletter for our brownie troop and also I finally did the cookbook typing from last year! This has been like an albatros around my neck for a LONG while now. But now its done! Then it was pick the kids up and we went for haircuts! Amazing is all I can say. So here are pictures.... First up is William's fun cut!

Then it was Bella up... this was hard on me till I saw it in the end because its just soo cute on her and she's sooo happy with it and proud of her donation to Locks of Love!

then it was my turn...and I let the kids take pictures.... holy cow was that an interesting thing! LOL these are some bad pictures of me but in the true spirit of the day I am posting them .... I had 10 inch ponies to donate...Bella's pony is about 13 inches + to donate so that's great! I'll have to play with my hair a bit and then will post a picture for everyone to see. what is about Tuesday that seems to set me off?!

I wish more people understood the whole IEP thing.....and that your child is only manadated by law to have "appropriate" education/accomodations. NOT what is best for them. This can only happen or is guarenteed if its in writting in the form of an IEP. And that your child isn't perfect...neither is mine. And they might not be telling you the whole truth. No one claims teachers are perfect..heck one only has to think of our whole first grade experience with William. But if you are going to blame a teacher's shortcomings then my question to you is ...what are you doing at home to help your child? Its soo easy to complain and whine about a teacher but if you aren't working with your child at home, over the summer, etc then you yourself are just as much to blame in the end for your child's lack of success.

On that note though William's hard summer work is totally paying off! He's doing amazing in school this year and is almost completely at or above grade level (he seems to be very good at math and hands on science stuff- yup a typical boy when you think about it!) Rather then having to repeat first grade orthon-gillingham (a phonics/reading program) he is totally doing the second grade and getting 100% on spelling test! He's not complaining of headaches and tummy aches to avoid school and Ms. McAuliff is amazing with him and doing lots of positive reinforcement and reminding him he can do things and is a smart guy! Its paying off! YEAH!!! Its so nice to have a teacher get that just because he's got a speech delay doesn't make him the village idiot! It just might take him a little longer to get things out or a bit more frustrated with himself and therefore others too.

I have the papers graded now, dishes done and baked some bread. So off to figure out some other things.

so its registration time for Brownies...and the moms that are giving me the most flack about being organized or doing too much with the girls are the ones that seem to
1. not be at any of the meetings last year except to pick up
2. can't fill out forms correctly
3. or can't seem to turn them in!
4. still don't want to do anything to help out but dont' want to have to do anything scout related outside of a meeting (like a good deed or write a few things down!)

ARGH! part of the whole scout adventure/value system is family and not just doing things in a meeting but taking that and carrying into your community. So how the heck can I do that at a 2 hour meeting with 20 girls? amazing.
Ok there is my hissy fit for the morning! Today I'm off to grade papers and probably do dishes (well the rest of them because I did alot of them yesturday). Bella has decided and it seems the general consensus to do the haircut before pictures on Friday. William seems to want a tie for pictures and his hair spikey. So that's probably going to be the plan. I also got the stamps to do the kids invites so I need to get going on those.

Yesterday was a brownie event in the morning and our friend Liam's birthday in the afternoon!

Today is church and then tree climbing with UMDM. Thankfully the kids didn't have any homework this weekend.

Bella has decided she wants to cut her hair like Kit the American Girl doll and then donate the cut off part to Locks of Love. I'm debating letting her do it before pictures or after school pictures which is this coming up Friday. What would you do?

Since you've now made a sandwich wrap (or bought one from me or recieved it as a gift. You will need to know how to use it. Granted I don't think its very hard but in case you have one of those rough mornings like I have every once in a while here you go. First you need to make a sandwich. I'm out of bread at the moment so you will need to use your imagination for this part =) You will fold in the "long side" to the point where they start to turn into a short side ..

repeat this on the other side as well so it looks like a long "tube"
From there you will fold up the non-tab side so that its about where your sandwich is (or about 1/4 of the way up)

then fold the tab over and make it velcro together.. that should do it.

I can now also tell you that yesturday I packed a sandwich for Bella in the morning for school...she didn't eat it and when I looked at it after school (so about 7:45 am till about 3:45pm) the bread was still soft and fresh! YEAH!

Its the best I can do folks with my knowledge...just ask if you have any questions

first you need to have 2 15 inch squares of fabric and 1 of iron on vinyl. You will need a small piece of about 2x5 inches and a piece of velcro.

Apply the iron on vinyl according to the manufactors instructions. Then you will fold both pieces into half and then half again. I marked 3.5 inches in from the folded edges and then cut diagonally across inorder to form 2 matching hexagons.

At this point I fold the small strip in half and sew it..then flip it and apply the velcro.

Then I sew the other velcro piece centered on the "x axis" but just below the center point on the "y axis"

at this point I layer the piece with the velcro in the semi-center. The tab should have the velcro also face up (see photo) then layer the other hexagon piece on top. I use clips to hold it so the pins don't poke holes in the vinyl. Then I stitch about a 1/4 inch almost all the way around ..you need to leave room to flip it so the right sides are out. I then flip it and make sure things line up. if they do line up then I topstitch around the edge and call it a day!

not much is happening. I am drying some laundry (seems a never ending job!) and did the dishes already. I also ran to Joann's and got the vinyl and heat and bond to make Liam's presents for tommorrow but that's as far as that got so far.

William seemed to switch gears when he realized that I wasn't going to let Bella be late this morning because he was screwing around with his shoe laces. I went so far as to turn out the lights and put Bella in the car. But really the kid needed some tough love this morning! And I think I needed a cup of coffee. But we got in the car he said he was sorry and could I help him with his shoe even though he can do it himself and then we carried on in normal wonderful kid mode! I really am proud of him and all his hard work this summer...and its really really paying off! When we left school this past spring the thought was he would need to repeat first grade level spelling/phonics program. But he's proven with all his summer work that he doesn't need to... he is doing the second grade stuff!!! And he's not struggling with it! YEAH!

ok off to do some more work and things... LOL maybe even the present for Liam and if I'm really on it I will take pictures as I do it so I can show you all how to do them!

that was grading papers and me yesturday! But today they are done! YEAH! But now that they are done and laundry is going...and I'm putting off dishes LOL by eating lunch and rambling on the blog I am going to share a fun phrase I heard today.

From one of the designers on Top Design said "I just smiled politely like a good southerner but inside I was thinking I was going to drop kick him to Jesus!" don't ask me why I find it soo funny but I do!

So off to maybe do dishes but maybe not! LOL By the way William grew! Normally he grows in little bits but this past Saturday he went to bed wearing mostly size 5 and some size 6 ...well he woke up to get ready for church and all of a sudden he outgrew all the size 5 and most of the size 6 pants we had for him! YIKES! Bella is usually the one who does this type of growing but I'm just happy they are growing. ANd luckily Gymboree had some jeans on sale plus we had a coupon for additional 20% off so I got him 2 pairs of jeans for $20 and picked up a few other things with my mom and ended up getting some gymbucks to use later. YEA!

ps do you think if Bella tells someone who's been picking on her "it doesn't matter what you say because I'm smarter than you!" its wrong?! Because my mouth said it wasn't to her but my insides was screaming "heck yeah you are!" (because really she is by leaps and bounds according to the testing they did last year!)

From what I've been told the average troop earns 6-9 try its per year. I think we will also fit in making music, playing around the world and a sports try it (or two), eco explorer troop wide and individually the girls can earn their religion related award. So that's pretty good don't you think? The try it names that are italic are from other councils that will share with girls outside of their out "borders".
Because each try it requires you to do 4 things that support the theme and we have a large troop what works well for us is to have 4 stations at each meeting with a leader at each station. Every 15-20 minutes or so we rotate stations. Also like 6 of these we will earn while at camp.

so I've been working on getting ready for the kick off brownie meeting all morning. I've typed up permission slips, snack sign up list, calendars, requirements for try its for the coleaders, project sheets for the girls for today's meeting adn the list goes on. I'm just hoping that at the end of this year the girls don't say they want to earn twice as many as they did this year. Last year in June that's what the girls decided...and they had earned 11 last year...they wanted to earn twice that many this year. Which puts the pressure on us leaders but I'm up for the challange. LOL At least right now.

SO its all fun and games! Today was odd...I think that's the best word for it. On the happy note I got picked to be a room mom for WIlliam's class. I think Sara and I are starting to lead parallel lives! We both are chairing staff appreciation....we both are room mom's for our sons (her for Liam amd me for William! LOL) So that might make it easier because we can just sit and do double duty for things.... cause you know Ford made the assembly line to make things quicker!

Say a prayer for Brownie round up tommorrow! I am in some ways dreading it and then again I'm looking forward to just getting things going again. I hate being in limbo with things.

Yesturday Sara and I went out without the kids....this hasn't happened in a LONG time and it was a blast. We did the Street Fair in Ferndale but that was really a dissappointment to both of us. It was billed as being more eco friendly and green but really with the exception of 2 booths I didn't see anything that was new or exciting or even was "green". The picture is actually of the art school students booth and these monster pillows are kinda cool in that its so flippin' ugly you can't help but like them! LOL The other cool booth was a guy who used old things like pots and made them into sculpters.

So afterwards we went to get some stuff for her son's party this next weekend and visited a couple dollar stores - I really like the one at 12 and Southfield area! Some very cool stuff I hadn't seen other places and spent $10 there. One of the cool things they had was these reuseable HOT packs! I might need to go back for a few more of these!

Then we went to Catching Fireflies in Berkley where we both fell in love with several items! Got tons of ideas for things to make too! I really do enjoy that store. Then we went to High Wire Girls up on Woodward and honestly if I never went in there again it would be ok. There was a thing here or there that I liked but nothing that I was like Holy Cow that is awesome and I want to go back.

Oh the test in the post below is from Sara..... so really its not just me finding strange things to share with everyone but I have help! LOL

On that note we are getting ready to jump in the car and head to Church. The kids joined the choir and they are really enjoying it!
